THE SEARCH
It seems that all one needs to do to find green coffee beans is to go online and type in green coffee.
About a billion results will pop up.
Almost all of these sites cater to HOME ROASTERS.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR
Many of these sites only offer raw coffee (Green Coffee) in large quantities.
Some sites offer wholesale as well as retail.
What we are looking for are the companies that offer small quantities, 1 pound or less.
SAMPLE PACKS
There are a few that I have found that offer Sample Packs.
Sample packs are nice because they usually come in ½ pound packs.
The company that I buy from, COFFEE BEAN CORRAL, offers sample packs of ½ pound samples from different regions.
ALL OVER THE WORLD
Coffee is grown in different parts of the world (GLOBAL REGIONS).
It can be grown in several different areas of any one country (LOCAL REGIONS).
Elevations are an essential part of a coffee's characteristic.
ARABICA ~vs~ ROBUSTA
Coffee is classified in many different ways. However the starting point is if the coffee is ARABICA or ROBUSTA.
Arabica is probably the most sought after coffee because it has less caffeine than Robusta.
To a Roaster, high caffeine means a bitter tasting coffee.
Most coffee roasters will only use Robusta in small quantities around 10% added to the Arabica just to give it a kick.
GREEN COFFEE
Drinking Green Coffee is different because it is consumed un roasted.
Yup UN ROASTED.
So when you are looking for a company to buy from, make sure the Beans you are buying are Raw – NOT ROASTED – Coffee Beans.
